Salvi Accepts First Forum

Salvi Calls For Three U.S. Senate Debates

MUNDELEIN, IL – Today, the Kathy Salvi for Senate campaign accepted the first forum invitation of the 2022 general election from WTTW, WBEZ, and the Chicago Sun-Times.

Kathy Salvi said: “I accept the forum invitation extended by WTTW, WBEZ, and the Chicago Sun-Times. Illinois families have faced 40-year high inflation, record prices at the gas pump, and store shelves empty of basic goods like baby formula. Abroad, we have been embarrassed by a chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan that opened the door to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, all while China’s global influence continues to rise. Voters heading to the polls are wrestling with so much and it is critical that candidates offer their vision for America’s and Illinois’ future.”

In addition to accepting the WTTW/WBEZ/Chicago Sun-Times forum invitation, Kathy Salvi challenged Senator Duckworth to two additional debates – for a total of three statewide debates, the same total that Duckworth and then-Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) participated in during the 2016 campaign.

“Illinois has a long tradition of monumental political debates and this race for United States Senate may very well determine the Senate majority in January of 2023. That is why I am challenging Senator Duckworth to three debates across our great state. Let’s make our voices heard. Let’s make our values known. The voters and the office we are both seeking deserve that from each of us,” Salvi concluded.
