Northfield Township Republicans
ENDORSEMENT SESSION - Saturday, February 7, 9:00am
Glenview Public Library
ONLY Members & PC's are permitted to the Northfield Township GOP endorsement session
9:00am to 12:00pm - Saturday, February 7
Glenview Public Library - Community Room East
You are invited as an active member or a precinct captain (or both). You are eligible to vote in this session. This meeting is open only to PCs and members. Membership is closed until the conclusion of the meeting.
The event will start at 9 am. As the library opens at that time, doors will not be open before then.
Candidates or their surrogates for will present to the group. Statewide candidates were invited to send surrogates if they were unable to attend. Some statewide candidates will present over Zoom. Candidates for Congress and local office need to present in person. Only contested candidates will present, in the interest of time.
Following the presentation, all people ineligible to vote will be asked to leave the room as we deliberate and vote. Voting is by secret paper ballot. Those who cannot stay for the whole session may cast their votes early, but you must vote in person (no proxies allowed).
Candidates are welcome to observe the counting of ballots. All candidates who receive 60% of the vote will receive the organization's endorsement, which enables the organization to support those candidates outwardly through the rest of the primary season. If no candidate receives 60% in a race with more than two candidates and at least one candidate receives 40%, a second ballot will be taken. If no candidate receives 60% on the second ballot, Northfield Township Republicans will issue no endorsement but "recommend" all candidates who received a minimum of 20% on the first ballot.
A complete copy of the rules is here. These rules were adopted by members at an extensive rules meeting January 26, 2026.
No photography, video recording or audio recording will be permitted aside from any photographs authorized by the chair.
TONIGHT, Committeemen T.J. Brown will be sending you a separate email with statements from candidates who submitted them. This might guide you in your vote.
