Daniel Behr for Township Supervisor

Daniel Behr has lived in Northbrook for 30 years. Recently, he has decided to enter political life after deciding that our area needs to demand better from its leaders.

Last year, he entered the race for House District 57. When the race drew no Republicans in the primary, Dan was slated by Republican leaders. As he was preparing his nomination papers a month before they were due, Illinois legislators passed a law, which J.B. Pritzker signed, that attempted to block slated legislative candidates (the law only affected candidates for state legislature) from appearing on the ballot. Dan filed his paperwork a month early in attempt to beat Pritzker's signature (Pritzker beat him by five minutes), and then along with other similar candidates, sued, contending changing the law to be effective immediately was Unconstitutional. The case lingered until late August when the Illinois State Supreme Court affirmed the lower court's ruling, and Dan was on the ballot.

Professionally, Dan comes from the railroad sector and more specifically, economic development. With his background, Dan has experience stretching the dollar, unwrapping a burgeoning bureaucracy, and ensuring every possible dollar goes to serving constituents. Dan knows how to ask the right, informed questions—the kind that lead to real, common-sense solutions that benefit everyone. Dan also has a PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp.
