Join the battle! Join the party! The 2026 Election Cycle is already underway, so let's get together for inspiration before our work gets even more intense.
Celebrate with us at our Summer Picnic from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Clarkson Park in Northfield.
We will have food, soft drinks, beer, and wine, and we expect to have plenty of good conversations and fellowship.
Our local candidates will be invited, and they will have their petitions to circulate. State Senator Liandro "Li" Arellano Jr. (R-Dixon) is coming all the way out to Northfield to give you an update on what is happening in Springfield. Sen. Arellano is in his first term as State Senator covering several North Central Illinois counties, including his hometown of Dixon, where he served as Mayor for eight critical years as he took office shortly after one of the largest municipal frauds in U.S. history was uncovered. Dixon can also lay claim to being the hometown to perhaps the most important figure in the Republican Party during the 20th Century, Ronald Reagan.
This event is free to paid members of Northfield Township Republican Organization. Please click here to renew your membership for 2025.

About Sen. Liandro Arellano Jr.

Liandro “Li” Arellano, Jr, a proud U.S. Army veteran and Dixon, Illinois native, was elected to the Illinois State Senate in November 2024 and took office in January 2025. He represents the 37th Senate District, which includes all or parts of Bureau, DeKalb, Henry, LaSalle, Lee, Marshall, Ogle, Peoria, Rock Island, Stark, Whiteside, and Woodford counties.
He currently serves as the Minority Spokesperson on the Senate Public Health Committee. He also serves on the Health & Human Services, Local Government, Pensions, State Government, and Veterans Affairs Committees.
Prior to his election to the Illinois Senate, Li served two terms as the Mayor of Dixon. After massive fraud was discovered in city governmnet, Li ran for Mayor and won election in April 2015. Over his eight years in office, he focused on getting the city's finances back in order and improving economic development and infrastructure.
As a small business owner, Li opened his first restaurant at the age of 26, operating a local franchise and learning the intricacies of business management, development, and entrepreneurship.
Li attended the University of Michigan, but after the terrorist attacks of September 11, he paused his education to join the U.S. Army. He has since served in three combat deployments and is currently in the Army Reserves as a Squad Leader for the 317th Engineer Construction Company in Homewood, Illinois.
Li married his high school sweetheart, Jamie, just before his first deployment. Together, they have five children.
